The Iconic Resort Hosts the World's Greatest Golfers on March 4-8

MIAMI, FL – March 2, 2015 – The culmination of the $250 million renovation of the world-renowned Trump National Doral, Miami occurs March 4-8, when the World Golf Championship-Cadillac Championship is played on the resort’s iconic Blue Monster course. The best golfers on the planet will converge in the heart of Miami for this spectacular weekend, which this year goes beyond tournament play to become a must-attend, international social event bringing together luminaries from the worlds of golf, fashion, music and entertainment. In addition to the main competition, which is considered the “Super Bowl of golf,” the festivities will include the Cadillac Miami Nights fashion experience, featuring a Dolce & Gabbana runway show hosted by Ivanka Trump, and a Cadillac Miami Nights Live concert starring rock legend Carlos Santana.

“Since the WGC-Cadillac Championship was last played here a year ago, practically everything at the resort is new,” said Donald J. Trump, Chairman and President of The Trump Organization. “When the golf players and fans who have been attending the World Golf Championships for many years return, they are going find a completely upgraded and phenomenal venue.”

One of four World Golf Championships sanctioned and organized by the operational committee of the International Federation of PGA Tours, the Cadillac Championship traditionally features 45-50 of the top 50 players in the Official World Ranking. Broadcast to more than one billion households in 225 countries, the tournament is expected to include past champions such as Patrick Reed, Justin Rose and Phil Mickelson. The iconic Blue Monster course, which has hosted the PGA tour for more than 50 years, has undergone a total transformation under the supervision of Donald Trump and esteemed Olympic course architect Gil Hanse. It now features completely new greens, traps, fairway tees and lakes that are bigger and better than ever.

“We are honored to have Trump National Doral and the Blue Monster serve as the host resort and venue for the prestigious Cadillac Championship,” said Ivanka Trump, Executive Vice President of The Trump Organization. “When we purchased Trump National Doral, our goal was to create the greatest golf resort in the world.”

On Thursday, March 5, Ivanka will serve as host for the après-play event Cadillac Miami Nights Featuring Dolce & Gabbana, an ultra-exclusive fashion show featuring highlights from the design team’s Summer 2015 collection. The traditional Sicilian heritage of the brand will be mixed with elements of Spanish culture, celebrating the decadence and sensuality of the Miami lifestyle. “We are very happy to be able to be part of such an internationally acclaimed program and to contribute with our creative vision to the success of this event,” said Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.

Following the third round of play on Saturday, March 7, legendary guitarist Carlos Santana will headline the Cadillac Miami Nights Live concert, with special guests Gente de Zona, Los Amigos Invisibles and more. The multi-Grammy-winning performer will delight fans with his signature fusion sound mixing Latin, blues and rock. “As we continue to build the Cadillac Championship into a series of luxurious social events that we call Cadillac Nights, we couldn’t be more thrilled that an artist like Carlos Santana, with his level of prestige, groundbreaking talent and worldwide following, has partnered to perform at this year’s tournament,” said Cadillac Championship Executive Director Andres Gaviria.

Other exciting events during tournament week include the Cadillac Nights Trump Model Search and an Opening Day Military Appreciation Ceremony, which will include a performance by the U.S. Special Operations Command Para-Commandos. In addition to the resort’s acclaimed BLT Prime and Champions Bar & Grill restaurants, new dining options during the Cadillac Championship include offerings from classic Miami restaurants Versailles and Burger and Beer Joint, as well as a series of hip and fun food trucks serving myriad cuisines.

This year’s WGC-Cadillac Championship coincides with a momentous time at Trump National Doral, which has seen the opening of a series of spectacular accommodations and amenities:

• The resort’s exclusive Taylormade Performance Lab offers Tour-caliber club-fitting experiences to golfers of all ages and abilities. Using a proprietary 3D motion reality system, the Performance Lab analyzes an individual’s swing and stance to craft unique equipment specifically tailored to their needs. Previously reserved exclusively for Tour players, Taylormade Performance Labs are now a premier destination for all golfers seeking the ultimate in precision, custom-fitted clubs.

• The famous Golden Palm course has been re-opened after a full restoration to make it one of the finest 18-hole fairways in the country. Set on 170 acres of undulating terrain, the Golden Palm is defined by heavily contoured, firm greens. A true links-style course with wide-open vistas, the redesign features a series of unique white-sand bunkers with tight cuts, clean edges and numerous tongues in a Tillinghast style, positioned to make the golfer carefully strategize throughout the game. Each hole brings water into play, weaving in, around and over streams, canals and lakes (including the largest lake on the resort). Magnificent new landscaping—including the lush golden-hued palm trees that give the course its name—adds dramatic beauty to each of the 18 holes.

•  Two new guest villas honoring golf legends Arnold Palmer and Phil Mickelson have been opened for visitors seeking the ultimate in elegance and style. The ultra-luxurious Arnold Palmer Villa comprises 46 brand-new guest rooms and suites, including the signature two-bedroom Presidential Suite, the most spacious and opulent accommodation at Trump National Doral. At more than 2,300 square feet, the Presidential Suite features a striking grand foyer, dining room and marble-finished bathrooms with deep soaking tubs. Meanwhile, the Phil Mickelson Villa offers 48 spectacular rooms and suites, including two stunning Premier Suites, complete with dining room. Lush landscaping and verdant gardens add to the residential allure, creating an oasis in the midst of the Miami metropolis.
