The Blue Flag status White Strand, Killard, is a popular and very safe sandy beach for swimming. Sheltered from the prevailing winds, the gently sloping sandy beach has views across the bay to the sand dunes at Doughmore. The beach is monitored by lifeguards at weekends during the month of June, and from 11am – 7pm every day during July & August.
The Clogher Strand is located in the north of the Doonbeg Parish off the N67 road to Quilty. The beach is accessible via a slipway from the road and the sandy shore is backed by a high bank of round stones known as “boulies” which separate Lough Donnell lake from the Atlantic.
