Welcome the holiday season with hope by supporting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at the River North Pole holiday event!
While parents enjoy gourmet hors d’oeuvres and holiday-themed cocktails, carolers will perform holiday favorites, and our festive Elves will help children write letters to Santa Claus. Children will also enjoy rides on the royal express train, a petting zoo with live reindeer, a craft station, a delicious hot chocolate station with holiday-themed sweet treats, and photos with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus! All proceeds at the River North Pole event will be donated to St. Jude Children's Hospital, where no family ever pays for their child's treatment, travel, housing, or food.

Starting Saturday, November 18th, 2023 join us for the most joyful ride of the season! Stop by the hotel’s lobby and visit our famed Gingerbread Express Elevator.
The hotel has designated one special elevator traveling up to the hotel’s signature restaurant, Terrace 16, to be decked in everyone’s favorite holiday indulgences – gingerbread, candy canes, and more sweet treats. Envisioned by the hotel’s Pastry Team, the Gingerbread Express features 466 pounds of all purpose flour, 105 pounds of dark sugar and 98 pounds of butter and takes more than 450 hours to create. Guests riding the Gingerbread Express will be greeted by the sweet aromas of the season, celebratory holiday music, and more than 1,300 gingerbread bricks. The Gingerbread Express elevator originated in 2010 and has become a holiday tradition for guests, residents and restaurant patrons to enjoy every year.
The Gingerbread Express Elevator is accessible to the general public! We highly recommend that you enhance your visit by making a reservation in advance at Terrace 16.
